Gender: Male

Campaign history: Agnew served as governor of Maryland before being elected vice president on the Nixon ticket in 1968.

Criminal/civil charges: In 1973 he was accused of accepting bribes and falsifying federal tax returns. He pleaded no contest to a charge of failing to report $29,500 in income he received in 1967. Agnew resigned the vice presidency, and Gerald Ford was appointed his successor.
